Kaana gives education support to a number of Karamojong children who were previously begging on the streets of Kampala.

In order to be able to start school the children had to be provided with basic school clothing and classroom equipment. Kaana has taken responsibility for this up to £50 per child, per year which is a sufficient amount.

This is an exciting opportunity to take children off the streets and out of poverty into a new life of hope, where they will be able to make their way in life.

Supporters of Kaana in Uganda and in the UK have said that this is an area of the work which they would like to support. We think that other supporters may feel inspired to join the scheme and sponsor children through their education.

Kaana has therefore opened a special School Bursaries Fund to enable supporters to sponsor or part-sponsor Karamajong children in their school places. There are two main ways in which people can contribute:
•    By meeting the school fees, which are currently £20 per term. It goes without saying that we hope that the sponsorship will be not just for a term, but for a much longer period, hopefully the whole of the child’s primary and secondary school life; and/or
•    Meeting the additional costs of clothing and equipping the children for their life at school, at what is currently a cost of £50 per year.

If you or perhaps a small group would like to fund a child's education our donation facility enables you to set up regular monthly or annual payments - use the donation link to the left.
